Why study AI in Fintech and Open Banking?
The most valuable asset for financial institutions isn’t currency – it’s data. In the past, banking success came primarily from having access to vast amounts of capital. Today, fintechs can reach customers and offer them targeted products and faster services by harnessing the power of AI and Open Banking APIs.

In this programme, executives and entrepreneurs will gain expertise in the strategic frameworks needed to leverage AI, Machine Learning, Big Data and Open Banking. Led by Pinar Ozcan, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Director of the Oxford Future of Finance and Technology Initiative at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and Martin Schmalz, Professor of Finance and Economics, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, the programme analyses current fintech use-cases for real-world insights.

"In a world where big data and consequently data-driven businesses are disrupting all markets, it is critical for those working in finance to have a clear understanding of how data and AI are transforming their industry and what they can do about it--as an entrepreneur, as a decision maker in a larger firm, or as a regulator. This programme will first take the participants through the basics of AI, and then explore the many opportunities it provides in the data-intensive industry of finance while flagging the pitfalls they may face in adoption."
