Martin is a tenured Professor of Finance and Economics at Saïd Business School, where he currently teaches an elective for Oxford’s MBAs, MFEs, and MLFs on Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Finance. Martin’s research expertise includes entrepreneurship, corporate finance and governance, behavioural finance and asset pricing, and various studies of the asset management industry.
Martin has co-authored the book, The Business of Big Data: How to Create Lasting Value in the Age of AI and contributed to a range of global publications. Martin’s research on how the ownership structure of firms affects firm behaviour and market outcomes has affected policy-making and antitrust enforcement worldwide.
Meltem is an expert in digital asset investing with significant experience in accelerating growth and acceptance of the asset class. At CoinShares, a publicly listed (Nasdaq Nordic $CS) digital asset investment firm with $5 billion in assets under management, she leads investment and corporate strategy.
She is a founding member and Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum Cryptocurrency Council, and works closely with organisations across the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Meltem was integral to the growth of Digital Currency Group, the world’s largest digital asset investment firm, and previously worked in the oil and gas industry in corporate treasury, trading, and M&A.
Sadie Creese is a global subject matter expert on operational aspects of cyber security including threat detection, risk assessment and security architectures. She is the founding Director of the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre at the Oxford Martin School where she conducts research into what constitutes national cyber security capacity. She was also the founding Director of Oxford’s Cyber Security network and a member of the World Economic Forum’s cyber security Centre’s Strategic Advisory Board. Prior to returning to academia, she worked as a cybersecurity expert for the UK’s Ministry of Defence. Sadie has a DPhil in Computer Science, an MSc in Computation and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Philosophy.
