Why Study Scenario Planning?

This six-week online programme provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of scenario planning and new capabilities to deploy long-term strategic thinking across their organisations.

A crucial tool in strategic management, scenario analysis enables companies to test the flexibility of their existing strategies, develop resilience in the face of uncertainty and act with purpose amidst the prospect of various potential outcomes. Even before the pandemic, digital disruption and political instability contributed to a rapidly shifting environment where scenario planning was — and is now more than ever — a key driver of success.

Long-term planning literally pays off. According to one study1, firms that operate with a long-term mindset have outperformed their industry peers since 2001 across almost every financial measure, generating nearly 50% more in revenues. And yet, amidst growing uncertainty, too many companies prioritise present-day efficiency at the expense of future innovation, leaving little to no room for scenario planning, not to mention money on the table.

Is this programme right for you?

This programme prepares chief financial officers, senior leaders and consultants to operate better under turbulent circumstances, enabling them to make more effective decisions about, for example, which markets to enter, where and how much to invest and which products to launch when, all the while maintaining flexibility as circumstances inevitably change.

What You Will Learn

  • Navigate uncertainty and ambiguity amidst major, uncertain shifts
  • Identify the underlying drivers of change and how they impact your organisation
  • Future-proof your strategy with scenario analysis
  • Proactively embrace the opportunities that come with volatility

Future dates for this programme are to be confirmed.
